The Highline is a walking trail that runs on old elevated train tracks in Chelsea and the West Village. You can enter at 20th and 10th avenue. there are benches and lounge chairs along the way, when it's warm, people sell water and popscicles and it's just amazing! You get great views of the city and can get off at 14th street or even farther downtown (I've never walked past the 14th street exit).
