NYC Bucket List: Feast of San Gennaro!

The Feast of San Gennaro is the United States's longest running and most famous outdoor religious festival and it takes place every year in Little Italy! First celebrated in 1926, it has grown from a one-day street fair to an 11-day festival. Literally millions of people come from around the world to experience the festival's events, including religious processions, 300+ vendors, live entertainment, and annual canolli eating competition. This years festival runs from September 15-25. Monday, September 19 is the actual Saint's Day, so a special Mass will be said before a statue of San Gennaro, the patron saint of Naples, is carried through the streets Little Italy.

If you've never been to the Feast of San Gennaro, take some time this week for a trip to Little Italy and enjoy the tradition, festive atmosphere, and amazing food
